Welcome to the Helsby Running Club
Home Page

Helsby is a small friendly local running club based in the village of Helsby in north Cheshire. We currently boast about 85 members, 60 men and 25 ladies, of all abilities from stars to plodders with ages ranging from 17 to 73.

Our club house is the former BICC sports and social club on the A56 at the western end of the village (see "WhereAreWe?" for details of how to find us). This we share with the village rugby club which ensures a plentiful supply of good cheap beer. Club night is of a Wednesday evening and starts with the club training run at 6:30pm. See "Training Runs" under the "Club Events" pages, these also include our Club Diary and a Photo Gallery.

We hold a number of club championships throughout the year, from a road racing championship to one the fells. Details of these, the fixtures and current state of play can be found under "Sections". In addition we host several races which include our premier Four Villages Half Marathon.

We aim to provide a warm welcome to anybody in the area (or indeed just happens to be passing through) who is interested in running, whether you are a superstar or just want to take up some exercise to shed a few pounds. For contact information then click on "Contact Us" to e-mail us.

Finally keep an eye out for the green and white vests on the roads and fells thoughout the year in the north west (and occassionally further afield) of merry England.

Web Navigation Note

This website is split into a number of smaller weblets as shown in the green bar to the left and roughly described above. Each weblet has its own top page. On each page (except this one) there is a "Home" button which will get you back to this page whereever you are in our pages. Once in a weblet its button will invert its colour, hence reminding you of where you are (especially useful if you have followed a link from one weblet to another). Clicking on it will take you back to its top page.
